City of Vero Beach Municipal Marina Dry Storage Building

Client: City of Vero Beach, Florida

Coastal Tech performed design, permitting, bidding and construction phase services for a 120 boat slip dry storage building, concrete floating dock, and upland site civil improvements to replace the existing office building and 50 slip dry storage building. At the request of the City, the majority of the oak trees were preserved adding a challenge for the site design. The project included an underground stormwater system to maximize the usable space for parking and other site requirements. The project was particularly challenging as the County’s manatee protection plan had not been updated with the more recent statewide manatee survey, and local residents resisted the project due the marina’s proximity to their homes causing significant delays. The ribbon cutting of the new marina dry storage building was held on April 7, 2026.

Coastal Tech as consultant managed the project on behalf of the City and provided site civil and coastal engineering design, permitting and construction phase engineering services.

Coastal Tech obtained, FDEP and USACE permits for the dry storage building and adjacent bulkhead and dock.

The City’s marina is dated and warrants significant improvements to the existing infrastructure. Coastal Tech prepared a Marina Master Plan which was a planning document that identified design alternatives with an opinion of probable cost of each alternative. This is one of several implementation projects Coastal Tech has worked on for the City to improve this Municipal Marina.
