The Coastal Engineer, Project Manager will provide leadership in the analysis, design and construction of interesting waterfront projects throughout Florida and the Southeast.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Coastal, Environmental, or Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering college or university
  • Master’s or higher advanced degree in Coastal Engineering
  • 5-15 years of related Coastal Engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer License in the State of Florida

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Coastal Engineering planning, design and construction
  • Experience with multi-discipline project teams
  • Proven leadership and detail-orientated skills
  • Demonstrated business development and project management experience
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
  • Ideal candidate would have experience with assessment of existing structures
  • Ideal candidate would have experience with Coastal modeling software, e.g. waves, sediment transport, etc.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage coastal projects including beach nourishment, shoreline stabilization, coastal structures, mitigation, dredging, etc.
  • Task and project management, including coastal engineering investigations and planning work, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability
  • Engineering design and construction observations as Engineer-of-Record
  • Design of new coastal structures and repair or replacement of coastal structures
  • Development and production of design drawings and specifications
  • Provide technical support and for regulatory permit approvals
  • Maintain organized records of project related documents and correspondence
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage production schedules
  • Technical resourcing and project management of coastal and/ or steering of multi-disciplinary project delivery teams
  • Coordination and performance management of project team professionals work such as surveying, geotechnical and environmental professionals
  • Contract administration – including preparation and monitoring of project scope-of-work and budgets/schedules with responsibility for project completion of scope within budget/schedule
  • Team management, support, mentoring, professional development and supervision of technical staff
  • Forecasting of workload for assigned staff
  • Ideal candidate will provide business development and client relationship management, including:
    • Marketing of Coastal Tech’s engineering and planning services; including meeting with current and prospective clients
    • Leading and participating in development of Coastal Tech proposals and statement of qualifications for current and prospective clients

Job Location:    Vero Beach, FL

Starting Pay:     Commensurate with experience and qualifications
Hours:                  Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
Hours will vary based upon work requirements

Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be able to move up to 50 lbs. up and down stairs.
